Dean Sausage Company

 

 

 

 

1 pound Dean’s Sausage (Hot or Mild)
6 Tablespoon melted butter, divided
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 cup chopped celery
1/2 teaspoon dried sage
4 cups cornbread crumbs
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 1/2 cups chicken broth
4 white bread slices, cut into 1/2 inch cubes


Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Cook and crumble sausage in a large skillet, then drain and remove from the skillet to a large bowl. Add 2 tablespoons of the butter to the skillet and saute the onion and celery until limp. Combine the cooked sausage with all other ingredients in a large bowl; stir gently (Can add more butter and extra chicken broth for a more moist dressing). Bake uncovered in a lightly greased baking dish for 45-50 minutes.
